Important update – Removal of our website prescriptions form and blood pressure form as of today Thursday 22/10/26
Dear patients,
Yesterday, we were made aware by our local NHS cybersecurity team of a security vulnerability affecting websites, which could leave them at risk of being hacked.
Although we have reviewed our own website and have no indication that any information has been compromised, this has prompted us to review how patients submit personal information to us.
As technology continues to advance, so do the challenges of keeping information secure. We feel it is important to adapt how we work and take steps to protect our patients’ information.
We have therefore made the decision to permanently remove our existing website forms for repeat prescriptions, blood pressures and to book nurse appointments.
We understand this may be frustrating for patients who have become used to using these simple forms, but we feel this is the right decision to help keep your information safe.
Our preferred method is the NHS App. It provides a simple and secure way to manage your repeat prescriptions, with the added benefit of being able to: You can access these services through: If you were recently started on a new medication and this is not showing on your NHS app, then you will need to request this via Rapid health using Questions and admin then selecting repeat prescription request. Other ways to request your prescriptions
How can I now request my repeat prescriptions?
Our preferred method is through our secure Abtrace system. We can send you a link to complete your blood pressure readings online, which will then automatically be added to your medical record. This is the quickest and most secure way to submit your readings, as it reduces the need for paper forms and the risk of information being misplaced. Alternatively, you can complete a paper form and return it to the practice.
How can I submit my blood pressure readings?
Yes. Although Rapid Health is accessed through a link on our practice website, it operates on a separate system from the website forms we have removed. Both Rapid Health and the NHS App have their own security measures in place to protect patient information, and patients can continue to use these services as normal.
Can I still use Rapid Health as this is a form on the website?
We understand that not everyone is confident using online services, and we are here to help. Our IT team runs dedicated Online Services Support Sessions, where patients can receive help getting set up with the NHS App and other online services, as well as being shown how to use them. If you would like some support, please contact the practice and our team can provide information about these sessions.
Important: Need help getting set up online?
We appreciate that changes to familiar services can be inconvenient, but we hope that with the support available, more patients will feel confident using these services.
Paper prescription requests will continue to be available for those who prefer not to use online services.
Thank you for your understanding as we continue to adapt our services to keep your information safe.
