Compass House – Additional branch site at Brixham Hospital

We are delighted to announce that with the support of the Brixham Hospital League of Friends, additional GP practice services will be available within Brixham Hospital for our patients from next month.

What does that mean for you?
From a patient perspective, there will be an additional location that you may be sent to for practice appointments.

Brixham Hospital will become the third Compass House site, with King Street in Brixham
remaining the main surgery, along with the branch surgery at Galmpton.

All staff will be working across all three sites on rotation.

The Brixham Hospital site is a branch site, like Galmpton, and much smaller than our main site at King Street.

Whilst it will offer extra space to house more staff and provide extra appointments for our growing patient population, it will not be able to offer the full range of services that we can at our main site as it is much smaller.

Patients will be advised which site to attend when they call to book an appointment.

Contacting the practice
The phone numbers remain the same. You should continue to contact your practice in the same way that you do now. Compass Medical Centre: 01803 855897. You will then be directed to the best site that day based on the appointment type you require and the clinicians working at each site.

Additional Location
The extra space we have secured for our patients is in a newly refurbished wing, alongside a similar wing for Mayfield Medical Centre for their patients.

There will be a shared reception area and waiting room for both GP practices and hospital outpatient appointments.

Appointments will commence at Brixham Hospital for our patients from 20 February 2023.

The new location address is:

Greenswood Road, Brixham TQ5 9HW
Access to the site is via the main Brixham Hospital entrance.

Check-in screens
Please use the check in screen for appointments at this site, which are located in the waiting room. As you enter the hospital the reception desks are immediately in front of you. If you go into the waiting room on the left-hand side you will find the check in screens against the wall on the left.

Location and transport
 Car – There is an automatic number plate recognition service car park on site which requires payment – see details below.

Please note this is not run by Compass House but by Brixham Hospital and we have no control over the parking services on site. There is also some off-road parking around the
back of the hospital.

 Bus – Bus services in Brixham run past the Brixham Hospital bus stop (472ft away/approx. 2-minute walk). Stagecoach 18.
 Rail – The closest station is Paignton and then take the number 12 Stagecoach bus to Brixham
 Transport assistance available via Brixham Hospital League of Friends on 01803 858057.

Parking
The hospital car park operates an automatic number plate recognition service.

How to Pay
Pay on Exit Car Park. You must pay for the entire duration of your stay upon exit.
Payment Machine: Use the payment machines provided on site and follow the instructions on screen:

 Enter your full, correct vehicle registration
 number into the payment machine.
 Follow the prompts on the screen.
 Choose your payment method.
 The payment machine accepts cash, card and Contactless payments.

Pay by Phone: You may also pay by phone via RingGo.

Blue Badge Holders: Upon arrival, you must select the Blue Badge option on the machine provided and scan the barcode on your valid Blue Badge to qualify for free parking. This exemption applies to a single visit ONLY – Blue Badges must be scanned upon every visit.
