Turning 18? You can still get help for your Mental Health

Mental health support can change when a young person turns 18. Some children and young people’s services may end or transfer to adult services around this age.

If you are already receiving support, your current service should discuss what happens next and help plan any transition to adult services, where needed.

If you are 18 or over, you may also be able to self-refer to adult mental health support, such as NHS Talking Therapies through TALKWORKS.

For urgent mental health crisis support, call NHS 111 and select the mental health option.

If there is an immediate risk to life, call 999.

Self referral - TALKWORKS

For mild anxiety and depression you can self refer by calling TALKWORKS on 0300 555 3344 or you can complete the self-referral form online.
