Cervical screening

Why it’s important?

Cervical screening is one of the best ways to protect yourself from cervical cancer.

Cervical screening is not a test for cancer, it’s a test to help prevent cancer.

Breast screening (mammogram)

NHS breast screening checks use X-rays to look for cancers that are too small to see or feel.

Who can get breast cancer?

Anyone can get breast cancer. This includes women, men, trans and non-binary people.

It’s the most common type of cancer in the UK.

The chance of getting breast cancer increases as you get older. Most breast cancers are diagnosed in women over 50 years old.

It is open Monday to Friday 9am to 8pm. The helpline also takes calls from partners or ex-partners, friends and relatives who are concerned about perpetrators.

A webchat service is available Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10am to 11am and from 3pm to 4pm.
