Thanks to an increase in the vaccine delivery for the next few weeks, we have over the last few days sent out text invites to all our patients in cohort 1-9, which is anyone aged 50+ and any adult in an at-risk group who has not already been vaccinated. We have lots of appointment choice for you over the next two weeks at the Riviera Centre in Torquay, so please book you appointment as soon as you receive the text invite to get your preferred day and time.
If you are in cohorts 1-9 and you haven’t received a text, this may be because you have changed your mobile number recently and not updated us or we don’t hold a number on your record. If you are 50+ and haven’t received a text or already been vaccinated then please call the practice after 11AM and we can update your record and book an appointment for you as soon as possible.
Please share this message with all your friends and family in Torbay so we can get as many Torbay residents vaccinated as quickly as possible.
Along with all vaccination sites, we are now only receiving the Oxford Astra Zeneca vaccine for the foreseeable future, with the Pfizer vaccine only being provided for those patients that received this vaccine for their first dose.
All of the GP practices across Torbay have been working collaboratively to deliver this service at the Riviera International Conference Centre for nearly 3 months and we have now vaccinated over 50,000 Torbay residents and 86% of the over 60’s population. This includes over 3,000 Care Home residents and staff and over 1,300 bedbound patients in their homes. We have now increased our capacity at the Riviera Centre to 1,500 and are now carrying out the second dose vaccinations alongside continuing with the first dose vaccinations for the remaining cohorts and will continue to do so over the coming months.
We are all extremely grateful for your kind words and letters of support at this time.
