Blood Pressure Monitoring

Did You Know…

High blood pressure affects over 16 million people in the UK.

The higher your blood pressure, the greater your risk of stroke, heart attack and heart failure.

High Blood Pressure rarely has any symptoms. The only way to know if you have high blood pressure is to have it measured. It can be treated and sometimes prevented and there are many things that you can do to help lower it. These include:

  • stopping smoking
  • losing weight
  • increasing exercise
  • reducing salt intake
  • reducing alcohol intake

Our goal is to help you to take control of your high blood pressure. For more information please visit:

Blood Pressure monitoring machines are available to borrow FREE from all Torbay Libraries or to buy from local chemist and many supermarkets. Prices now start from £19.99. Many of our patients have purchased their own machines and then provide us with their blood pressure measurements.

Printed copies of the Blood Pressure Form are available at our reception desk at King Street and Galmpton.
