Online Services

To request clinical support including ordering medication, or if you have an admin query, please use our online consultation tool called Rapid Health.

You can access this by following this link: https://compasshouse-consult.uk.rapidhealth.co.uk, between 8am – 6.30pm Monday to Friday except Bank Holidays.

You can register for Online Services via the NHS App to:

  • Order your Repeat Medication
  • View your Blood Test Results
  • View your Immunisation History
  • View other parts of your Medical Record (prospective access)
  • Book Appointments – subject to change (please see guide on our website for appointments available)

Prospective Access

From 18th October 2023, patients can register for prospective access via the NHS App to view their clinical record, including consultations and letters.

Prospective access means you can view new information added to your GP record going forward (from 18th October 2023, or from the date you registered with your current GP practice if this is later), rather than your full historical record.

The easiest way to do this is to create an NHS login through the NHS App. During registration, you will be asked to confirm your identity before you can access your GP health record. This is to help keep your record secure.

If you do not have photo ID, or if your NHS login identity check is unsuccessful, we can verify your identity at the surgery. In this situation, please follow the Online Services process below.

Processing Times for Online Services and Proxy Access

Access to your medical records may be granted at the discretion of the practice, upon request.

Once a request has been made, the practice will aim to fulfil it within 28 days.

There may be instances where this is deemed not to be in the patient’s best interests, and you or the representative will be informed accordingly.

Setting up your Online Services

Please read all the information provided before applying and consider the following:

Forgotten Information – You may come across details in your record that you have forgotten and could find distressing.

Abnormal Results – If granted access to test results or letters, you may see information that could upset you, particularly if this happens before you have had a chance to discuss it with your doctor or when the surgery is closed.

Misunderstood Information – Medical records are often written in technical terms by specialists for clinical use. If you encounter anything that is unclear, please contact the surgery for clarification.

Changes to Contact Information – If your email or phone number changes, it could affect your access to the NHS App or Patient Access. If this happens, please notify the surgery as you may need to re-register.

Sharing Your Information – You have the choice to share your medical information with others (e.g., family members or carers), but you are responsible for ensuring that it remains secure and confidential.

Security Concerns – If you believe your online account has been compromised, please contact the surgery immediately so we can deactivate your account.

Pressure to Share – If you believe you may be coerced into sharing your medical information against your will, we recommend that you refrain from registering for online access at this time.

To request your Online Services access, please complete the Online Services Form – https://compasshousemedical.com/wp-content/uploads/Online-Services-Form.pdf and return it with your Photo ID and Proof of Address to either Compass House – King Street, or 2 Langdon Lane, Galmpton during opening hours.

Identification Required

Please bring your identification documents to the practice in person, together with your completed form, so we can verify your identity.

For security reasons, we are unable to accept copies of photo IDs or IDs sent by email.

Accepted photo IDs

We can accept the following:

  • Driving licence — must be valid and show your current address
  • Provisional driving licence — must be valid and show your current address
  • Passport — must be valid, and must be accompanied by proof of address

Accepted proof of address:

  • bank statement
  • council tax bill
  • utility bill

Please ensure proof of address documents are recent (issued in the last 3 months).

If you do not have photo ID, please provide two official documents from the list above.

Proxy Access

Please read all the information provided before applying.

If you would like someone to manage your online health services on your behalf, we can provide Proxy Access. This allows a designated person (e.g., a family member or carer) to book appointments, manage repeat prescriptions, and view parts of your medical history.

Setting up Proxy Access

To arrange this, please complete the Proxy Access Form – https://compasshousemedical.com/wp-content/uploads/Proxy-Access-Form.pdf and return it with the relevant forms of ID and Proof of Address to either Compass House – King Street, or 2 Langdon Lane, Galmpton during opening hours.

Requirements for Representatives

The person you designate as your representative must be registered with NHS App or Patient Access to link their account to yours.

Cross-Surgery Access

Your representative can access your account even if they are registered at a different surgery. We will need their email address used for registration to link their Patient Access account. (Please note that the NHS App does not provide this service if registered at different surgeries.)

Proxy Access for Children

Under GDPR regulations, parental or guardian access will be automatically revoked when a child reaches the age of 11. If continued access is needed, please re-submit a Proxy Access Form as per below.

Security Responsibility

It is the responsibility of the person you designate as your representative to ensure the security of your data when accessing your records on your behalf.

Account Maintenance

Your Online Services or Proxy Access account will remain active until you notify the surgery that you wish to close it, or until your records are transferred and you are no longer a patient at this surgery.

Information Shared by Default

As part of proxy access, information about your allergies and current medication will be shared by default. This cannot be removed from access, as an important safety measure built into NHS systems in line with clinical safety requirements.

If you would prefer not to share this information with your representative, proxy access may not be the right option for you.
